Overview
Lumi is an interaction-focused humanoid from Lightberry. It is not a clean-sheet machine: Lumi is built on a Unitree G1 base, to which Lightberry adds its own head, hands, soles and sensor package. The result is a G1-compatible body presented as a robot for talking to people rather than for carrying things.
Specifications
Lumi stands 1.3 m and weighs approximately 40 kg, with 34 degrees of freedom over a 29-DoF G1-compatible body. Compute is an Nvidia Jetson Thor with 64 GiB. Vision is a 1920×1200 camera per eye at 30 fps, paired with a beamforming microphone array. Expansion is unusually generous for the class: 10 Gb networking for external sensors and two USB-C 3.1 ports. The battery is 421 Wh, rated at 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Software is Lightberry OS with an accompanying SDK.
Where it is used
Lightberry positions Lumi for interaction work — entertainment, retail and hospitality settings where the robot’s job is to engage with people directly.
Background
Building on the Unitree G1 rather than an in-house platform means Lumi inherits the G1’s mechanical base and its documented behaviour. Owners troubleshooting the underlying body will find that the G1’s error codes and known issues apply.
Availability
Open for reservation, shipping 2026. The Founder Edition covers the first 100 units at $39,990 against a $200 refundable deposit, and includes one year of software access and Slack support.
